Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 October 2026

Stall is a music-native social platform operated by Adham Ayoubi (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to describe what the software actually does rather than what is conventional to say.

Information you give us

Creating an account

Your email address, a username, a password, your name and your date of birth.

Your name is shown on your profile. We ask for your date of birth to check that you are old enough to use Stall (see Age below), and we keep it with your account.

Joining the waitlist

If you sign up for the private beta on this website, we store your first name, last name and email address so we can contact you about access.

What you create

Posts, comments, uploaded media, and your profile information. Anything you choose to make public is visible to other people using Stall.

Information collected as you use Stall

We record how you interact with content so we can decide what to show you. Specifically, we log when content is shown to you, and when you tap, play, skip, like, save, repost, share or comment on it, along with how long you spend on a piece of content. These records are linked to your account.

This is used to rank your feed and to improve recommendations. We do not sell it.

Technical information

Your IP address, device type and app version. We do not work out where you are. We do not collect precise or GPS location, the app never asks for location access, and we do not derive an approximate region from your IP address either.

If you add a location to a post yourself, that is part of the post — you typed it, and it is visible to anyone who can see the post.

Cookies and similar storage

When you open Stall — including before you have an account — our analytics provider sets two cookies and stores two items in your browser’s local storage. They hold a randomly generated device identifier, a session identifier, and any campaign details from the link you arrived by. They are used for product analytics only. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run ads.

Camera, microphone and photos

Only while you are creating a post, and only after you grant permission. We do not access them in the background. You can revoke access at any time in your device settings.

Third parties

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account in the app. It takes effect immediately: you are signed out and cannot sign in again, and your profile, name, email address, photo and pseudonym are permanently deleted. We cannot restore a deleted account.

Posts and comments you have made stay on Stall. They are no longer attributed to you — they appear as “Deleted account”, with your name, photo and profile removed. This is so that conversations other people took part in are not broken by one person leaving. If you want a specific post or comment removed as well, delete it in the app before deleting your account, or email us and we will remove it.

Your username and pseudonym are retired and cannot be taken by anyone else.

You can request a copy of your data by emailing support@stall.ing. Write from the address your account uses, or tell us what it is. We may ask a question to confirm the account is yours first, so that nobody can request someone else’s data. There is a Download Data screen in the app, but the export behind it is not switched on yet and says so — email is the route that works today.

How long we keep things

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the identifying information is removed immediately and your username is retired. Posts and comments you made remain, no longer attributed to you — see Deleting your account above.

A comment you delete, or a comment or message Stall removes after a report, disappears at once. We keep a copy for 30 days and then erase it. When someone reports a comment or a message, the report keeps its own copy of it (for a message, with the 5 messages before it) while the report is open and for 30 days after it is closed. Child sexual abuse material that Stall removes is kept for a year, and anything may be kept longer when the law requires it or the police or a court ask us to.

Age

You must be 16 or over to use Stall. We have set the minimum higher than is typical for social apps, deliberately: Stall does not yet have the content filtering or the protections a younger audience should have, and we would rather wait until it does than admit people it is not built for.

When you sign up we ask for your date of birth, and Stall does not create an account for anyone under 16. We keep your date of birth with your account, and deleting your account deletes it. We do not check it against any ID — it is the date you give us — so if you believe someone under 16 is using Stall, email us and we will remove the account.

Changes to this policy

If this changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
