Terms of Use
Last updated 26 September 2026
Stall is a music-native social platform operated by
Adham Ayoubi (“we”, “us”). These
terms are the agreement between you and us. By creating an account or
using Stall, you agree to them. Our
Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. We
do not sell your data.
Stall is for free expression
We built Stall for people to say what they think — about music, about
the world and about each other. We do not remove opinions for being
unpopular, harsh or offensive. Criticism, calling out someone’s
behaviour and honest feelings about people stay up, however strongly they
are put.
What we do not allow is set out below. We have zero tolerance for
objectionable content and abusive users, as these rules define
them, and a person at Stall reads every report.
Who can use Stall
- You must be 16 or over. To see adult content you must be 18 or over — see Adult content below.
- During the private beta, accounts are approved before they can post, and we can decline or end access.
- One person per account. Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Do not use Stall where the law forbids you to.
What is not allowed
Content that breaks these rules is removed, and accounts that post it can
be removed too.
- Anything sexual involving someone under 18, or anything that sexualises minors. We report it to the authorities.
- Intimate images or videos of someone shared without their consent.
- Threats and calls for violence, and content that supports terrorism or violent extremism.
- Abuse aimed at a person: threats, slurs used against someone, sexual harassment, posting someone’s private information (such as their address or phone number), and repeatedly targeting someone who has asked to be left alone.
- Encouraging suicide or self-harm.
- Spam, scams and fraud.
- Pretending to be someone else in a way meant to mislead.
- Anything else illegal, including content you do not have the rights to share.
What stays up
-
Offensive speech that is not aimed at anyone —
including slurs used in general, crude humour and harsh opinions —
stays up. A post reaches people like any other post: we do not remove
it, label it or show it to fewer people for being offensive. Under a
post, we may show an offensive comment lower down or fold it behind a
tap, but we do not remove it for being offensive — and the
author of the post can unfold it for everyone.
-
Criticism and calling out bad behaviour are not abuse,
however strongly they are put, and we do not push them down or hide
them.
-
Violence posted to inform — news, documenting
events, music videos — is allowed. Mark it sensitive: it is hidden
behind a warning screen for anyone who has not chosen to see sensitive
content. Violence posted to glorify or incite it is not allowed.
False information and manipulation
You can share your opinion. You cannot make things up and present
them as fact.
-
Posts that present false information as fact — a
made-up quote, a doctored photo or video, a claim that reliable evidence
contradicts, fabricated propaganda — stay up, but we show them to
fewer people, and we add a short note under the post saying what is false
and how we know, with our source.
-
Coordinated manipulation — networks of accounts
pushing the same thing, or faked likes, follows and views — is
shown to fewer people too. Spam, scams and fraud are removed (see above).
-
Showing a post to fewer people means it no longer
appears in For You, Explore, search or suggestions for people who do not
follow the account. Its followers still see it, and it stays on the
profile.
-
We use automated tools, including AI, to help find these posts and check
them against sources, and a person at Stall reviews each
one. Opinions, predictions, satire and jokes are not false
information.
-
If we add a note to your post or show it to fewer people, we tell you
why, and you can ask us to look again.
Adult content
- Consensual adult sexual content is allowed, for adults only, as long as it is marked sensitive.
- It is hidden by default. It is shown only to people who are 18 or over by the date of birth on their account, and who have chosen to see it on stall.ing — it cannot be switched on in the app — and to them it shows like any other post, in search too. We do not show it to fewer people for being adult.
- It is never allowed in profile photos, banners, or anywhere else it cannot be hidden.
- Everyone in it must be an adult who agreed to it and to its being shared. Content that is not is removed, and so is the account that posted it.
- Stall is a music and social platform. Accounts that exist mainly to post pornography, or to sell sexual services, are removed.
Reporting, blocking and what we do
-
Report a post from its ⋯ menu, and an account
from the ⋯ on its profile. For a comment or a message, email
support@stall.ing.
-
A person at Stall reads every report within 24 hours.
Depending on what it is, we leave it up, add a note or a warning screen,
show it to fewer people, or remove it — and we remove accounts that
break these rules seriously or repeatedly. Reports of child sexual abuse,
threats and self-harm go to the top of the queue.
-
Block any account from its profile. A blocked account
cannot see your posts or contact you, and you will not see theirs. You
can also hide any post from your feed.
-
Posting anonymously, or under a pseudonym, does not change the
rules. Anonymous posts can be reported and removed like any
other. Once posted, an anonymous post cannot be edited or deleted —
not even by you — because it is not linked to your profile.
Your content
- You own what you post.
-
You give us permission to host, store, copy, adapt and show your content
on Stall — for example, to convert a video so it plays smoothly, or
to make smaller copies of a picture — and to let people use
Stall’s features with it, such as sharing, reposting, or using your
sound in their own posts where the app allows. This permission is
worldwide and free, and it lasts while your content is on Stall.
-
When you delete a post, it is removed from Stall. When you delete your
account, your posts and comments stay on Stall without your name, as the
Privacy Policy explains — delete anything you
want gone first.
- You are responsible for what you post, and you must have the right to post it.
Music and copyright
- Only upload music you own or have permission to share.
- Sounds from Stall’s library are for use in posts on Stall. An artist’s unreleased track (an ID) and its preview can be used only in the ways the app allows.
-
If you think something on Stall infringes your copyright, email
support@stall.ing with what the
work is, a link to where it is on Stall, your contact details, and a
statement that you own the work or act for its owner. We remove content
that infringes, and we remove accounts that do it repeatedly.
Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account in the app. The Privacy Policy says exactly what happens.
- We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, to protect people, or when the law requires it. When we can, we will tell you why.
Using Stall responsibly
Use Stall through the app and the website, the way they are built to be used. You may not:
- scrape or crawl Stall, or collect content or information from it by bots, scripts or any other automated means, without our written permission;
- probe, scan or test the security of Stall or the systems it runs on, or get around any security, sign-in, rate limit or other technical limit;
- reach, or try to reach, parts of Stall or its systems that are not public;
- copy, decompile, reverse-engineer or modify the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
- overload, disrupt or interfere with Stall, or with anyone else’s use of it;
- sell, rent or transfer your account, or use someone else’s without permission.
Your licence to use Stall
- We give you a personal, worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to use the Stall app and website as these terms allow. You cannot transfer it, and it ends if your account ends.
- Stall — its name, the mascot, its logos, the app and the website — belongs to us. These terms do not give you any right to use them except to use Stall.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
The service, and the limits of our responsibility
- Stall is in private beta. Features change, and things may break or be unavailable.
- Stall is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those in these terms — including that it will always work, be error-free or be fit for a particular purpose.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for what other people post or do on Stall, or for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses — such as lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill — from using Stall or from being unable to use it.
- To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim about Stall is limited to the greater of US$100 or what you paid us, if anything, in the six months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.
Changes, disputes and the rest
- Changes. If we change these terms in an important way, we will tell you in the app before the change applies. Using Stall after that means you accept the new terms. The current version is always at stall.ing/terms.
- The law. These terms, and any dispute between you and us about them or about Stall, are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
- Where disputes are heard. Disputes are brought only in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to those courts’ jurisdiction — unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them in your own courts.
- The whole agreement. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Stall. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part straight away, we have not given it up.
- Passing it on. We may transfer these terms to whoever takes over Stall, for example if it is sold or becomes part of a company. You may not transfer them.
